Make a private terrain snapshot around a loaded area
World Map is a terrain snapshot for people who can view your world dashboard, not a live public tracking site. Start near an area somebody has already loaded and make a small scan so you can distinguish missing samples from actual water, land or buildings.
Add World Map to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
Choose the center and resolution
Start the scan in game to use your position and dimension. The private Console uses Overworld spawn instead. Inspect settings and choose a cell size before making the map: smaller cells give more detail but require more samples. A radius is measured in blocks, not chunks or the entire world border.
/map config
/map set cell_size 16
/map scan 128Inspect completion before opening the result
Use status while the bounded scan runs, and cancel if you chose the wrong location or size. Only loaded terrain is sampled; the scan never loads or generates chunks. Visit or otherwise load the area before trying again. Pregeneration can create terrain, but does not promise that all of it stays loaded for a later map scan.
/map statusOpen the private dashboard view
After a completed scan, open this world’s dashboard, then Plugins, World Map and Open world map. The in-game map command points you toward that workflow. Check recognizable landmarks and the blank-area color. A cancelled or failed replacement scan preserves the previous completed map instead of publishing a partial grid.
/mapCheck the result
- Scan a small loaded area with a recognizable shoreline or building and compare its position with the snapshot.
- Restart normally and check that the completed map remains available only through authorized world-dashboard access.
Limits and compatibility
- The first release is a modest two-dimensional surface-color grid, with no caves, three-dimensional view or live player positions.
- There is no automatic full-world scan or public tracking page. Unloaded cells are blank rather than proof that terrain is absent.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own World Map plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
