Prepare a small exploration area while nobody is playing
Pregeneration is useful when you want a modest area ready before a group starts exploring. Begin with a small square around the right location and let the default empty-server rule protect active play. A queued job is not evidence that every requested chunk has already been saved.
Add World Pregenerator to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
Choose the center and budget
Start in game if you want your position and dimension to be the center. The dashboard Console instead uses Overworld spawn. Inspect settings before changing limits; the default pace is at most one chunk per second while nobody is online and average tick time remains below the configured threshold.
/pregen config
/pregen set only_when_empty on
/pregen set interval_ticks 20
/pregen set max_mspt 35Start a small region and let the server become empty
This example requests a sixty-four-block radius. With the default empty-server rule, the job waits while you remain in game; disconnect and monitor from the private Console instead. Engine borders and loaded-chunk limits still apply, so a refused load can pause the job with an explanation rather than silently finishing it.
/pregen start 64
/pregen statusUse checkpoints and controls deliberately
Status distinguishes progress from durably checkpointed work. Pause before changing your plan, resume when ready, or cancel an unwanted job. Progress checkpoints follow a checked world save. After an interrupted run, repeating a small unsaved batch is expected and safer than claiming that missing data is complete.
/pregen pause
/pregen status
/pregen resumeCheck the result
- Confirm the job waits while players are online under the empty-server setting, then progresses after they leave.
- Restart during a small paused job and inspect persisted status before resuming. Check completion instead of estimating it from elapsed time.
Limits and compatibility
- The default maximum radius is 256 blocks and the configurable ceiling is 384; this is not an unlimited world generator.
- Pregeneration creates terrain. World Map only samples terrain that is already loaded, so the two commands have different jobs.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own World Pregenerator plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
