Add a clear floating welcome sign at spawn
A short floating sign can answer the first questions a new player has at spawn. Use it for two or three clear lines instead of a wall of commands. Holograms stores named labels, so you can move or revise the same sign without creating a new one each time.
Add Holograms to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
Create the sign where players should read it
As an operator, stand at the label location and create a name followed by its text. A vertical bar separates lines; the default limit is four lines. Keep each line short enough to read at normal play distance and use a distinct name for each physical sign.
/holo create welcome Welcome to the world | Read the rules before building.
/holo listRevise or move the existing label
Use text to replace the content of the named label. To move it, stand at the new location and use move rather than creating a second sign with a similar name. Definitions reconcile when their locations are loaded, so status is more useful than repeatedly issuing create if you cannot see a distant sign.
/holo text welcome Welcome | Use /spawn to return here.
/holo move welcome
/holo statusKeep the number and spacing manageable
Inspect operator configuration before increasing label or line limits. The default arrangement supports thirty-two labels with four lines each. Remove an unused label deliberately and check status afterward. Static directions pair well with real NPC dialogue, but they do not become clickable actions merely because their text contains a command.
/holo config
/holo statusCheck the result
- Check the line count and loaded status, then view the sign from the normal arrival direction.
- Restart normally, return to the loaded location and confirm one sign returns without duplicate marker lines.
Limits and compatibility
- Labels use invisible entity nametags, not arbitrary resource-pack display models.
- Live balances, quest placeholders and clickable actions are not provided. Physical client rendering should be checked with your own group.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own Holograms plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
