Show useful world information without a crowded sidebar
A sidebar is most useful when it answers a few immediate questions: who am I, how many players are online and where am I? Start with three lines rather than filling every available slot. Players can turn the display off for themselves without changing the world’s configuration.
Add Scoreboards and Player List to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
Write a small set of supported lines
Operators can inspect settings, set a title and replace lines using vertical bars as separators. The example uses supported player, online and world variables. Text values may contain spaces. Use only the variables the plugin understands, rather than pasting a template written for an unrelated placeholder system.
/scoreboardui config
/scoreboardui set title Our world
/scoreboardui set lines {player}|Online: {online}|World: {world}Choose a reasonable refresh and player-list message
The refresh setting uses server ticks; one hundred ticks is approximately five seconds at normal tick speed. A slower refresh is sufficient for general world information. Java clients also have player-list header and footer text, which can carry a short welcome without adding more sidebar lines.
/scoreboardui set refresh_ticks 100
/scoreboardui set header Welcome, {player}
/scoreboardui set footer Enjoy the worldLet each player decide whether to display it
Ask a regular player to toggle the display, then toggle again to restore it. Preferences are personal and survive restarts. Check the screen on the client versions your group uses; the Bedrock sidebar is its native representation and does not have the same Java Tab-screen layout.
/scoreboardui toggleCheck the result
- Confirm that player name and online count are substituted rather than shown as literal braces.
- Restart normally and check that a player who opted out stays opted out while the world templates remain saved.
Limits and compatibility
- The first release supports player, online, health, world and coordinate variables, not arbitrary PlaceholderAPI, economy or quest variables.
- At most twelve sidebar lines are supported, with validated text and refresh limits.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own Scoreboards and Player List plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
