Set prices and start a shared world economy
Give your world a clear way to earn and spend coins before filling the shop with cheap resources. Shop supplies the shared balance used by Jobs, Quests and other economy plugins, so start with a few prices that fit how quickly players can earn money.
Add Shop and Economy to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
Read the rules players will see
Open the shop in Survival and inspect the economy settings before changing anything. Cash is spendable; money deposited in the personal bank must be withdrawn before shopping. Check the buy and sell price separately: expensive building blocks and low resale values are deliberate defaults, not a price display error.

As an operator, set prices per item in coins. This example keeps stone expensive and makes resale much lower. Command prices accept decimals; the private configuration file uses integer hundredths instead. Use off for a side you do not want to offer, then inspect the price list again.

Set tax in basis points: 100 is one percent, so 250 is 2.5 percent. Have two players online for a small payment, replacing Alex with the recipient. Compare both balances, then test depositing and withdrawing coins. Daily rewards have their own cooldown; banks do not earn interest.
/economy set payment_tax_bps 250

- Try one affordable purchase with free inventory space; a full inventory must refuse the purchase without charging.
- Restart normally and compare cash, bank and daily cooldown before making another payment.
Limits and compatibility
- Coins belong to this world and are not real-money purchases. Payments require an online recipient.
- After an interrupted trade, check balance and inventory before issuing a fresh buy or pay command.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own Shop and Economy plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
