Turn natural mining into a repeatable objective
A repeatable quest gives players a clear short goal instead of leaving them to guess what earns rewards. Start with one natural resource objective, choose a payout that fits your shop prices, and explain when players can complete it again.
Add Quests to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
JetRift includes Shop and Economy automatically. A required plugin cannot be removed while this plugin needs it.
Define a goal players can understand
Operators select the eligible blocks, required count, reward and cooldown in seconds. The example asks for twenty natural coal ore blocks and pays ten coins, at most once per day. Ordinary and deepslate variants are listed separately so the objective is explicit. Changes affect the configured mining objective for this plugin.
/quests set blocks coal_ore,deepslate_coal_ore
/quests set target 20
/quests set payout 10
/quests set cooldown_secs 86400Follow the counter during real mining
Players inspect status and mine eligible natural blocks in Survival. Confirmed mining drives the counter; merely attempting a protected break is not progress. Placing the target block and breaking it again is excluded. Keep the objective and reward small for the first test so you can see the complete cycle.
/quests statusClaim after reaching the target
Once status shows the objective complete, claim the reward and compare Shop cash. The next claim should require a fresh completed objective and respect the cooldown. During interrupted recovery, repeat the original claim rather than changing the player data or deleting a saved request.
/quests claim
/balance
/quests statusCheck the result
- Check the counter before and after mining an eligible natural block; an incomplete objective must refuse payment.
- Complete and claim one objective, restart normally, and confirm it does not award the same completion again.
Limits and compatibility
- The first release is a repeatable mining objective, not an editor for dialogue trees or arbitrary quest chains.
- Rewards use Shop coins. Progress and timing are server state; keep plugin data together when restoring a backup.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own Quests plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
