Match connected blocks to the tools allowed to mine them
Veinminer is most useful when its rules are predictable: ores with pickaxes, logs with axes, and deliberate exceptions for your world. Start with status, then add one narrow group and test both an allowed and a refused tool before introducing broader categories.
Add Veinminer to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
Inspect defaults and bound the work
Status shows the current groups and global rules. The default extra mining includes connected ores and logs in Survival, with a sixty-four-block limit including the original break. Reduce the cap and radius for your first test. Every extra block still follows ordinary player mining, protection, drops, harvest rules and tool wear.
/veinminer status
/veinminer set max_blocks 32
/veinminer set radius 6Create a restrictive exact-block override
This example allows diamond ore and its deepslate variant only with diamond or netherite pickaxes. Lists use commas without spaces. Exact block rules take precedence over broad categories, and a refused tool does not fall through to an easier default rule. Replacing a group replaces its complete definition and resets mixed mode.
/veinminer group set diamonds diamond_ore,deepslate_diamond_ore diamond_pickaxe,netherite_pickaxe
/veinminer statusChoose optional tree behavior and personal control
Enable conservative tree checks only after testing logs near a real trunk, supported soil and leaves. Placement history cannot identify every pre-existing wooden structure. Players can turn their own extra mining off without changing everyone else’s rules. Remove the broad logs group if you want an ore-only world instead.
/veinminer set tree_felling on
/veinminer toggleCheck the result
- Compare connected and disconnected ore, then repeat with an allowed and a refused pickaxe. Check durability and the configured total block cap.
- Restart normally and verify the group and personal toggle remain. Test protected land as an ordinary player.
Limits and compatibility
- Unloaded chunks are not fetched and work is bounded; this is not unlimited bulk excavation.
- Tree checks do not provide Nether fungus felling, replanting or leaves cleanup, and cannot reconstruct placement history from before installation.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own Veinminer plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
