Set fair heart transfers for a Lifesteal world
Lifesteal changes the stakes of player combat, so agree on the heart rules before anybody risks their main character. Start with elimination disabled, test a qualifying Survival kill and make sure players understand which deaths actually transfer hearts.
Add Lifesteal to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
Choose a conservative starting policy
Operators can inspect settings and set the maximum hearts, gain per kill and repeat-victim cooldown. Keep the maximum compatible with the starting balance. Elimination is optional; leaving it off during testing avoids accidentally putting a participant into Spectator while you are still deciding the rules.

/lifesteal settings eliminate falseCompare both sides of a controlled kill
Have two consenting players check their hearts before a qualifying Survival fight, then compare the killer and victim afterward. Repeated kills of the same victim have a farming cooldown. A self-kill or an uncredited environmental death is not an interchangeable way to trigger a heart transfer.

Operators can set a known player’s heart balance or revive them, including after they go offline. Replace Alex with a player the plugin already knows. If you later enable elimination, tell players that a zero-heart elimination uses Spectator rather than promising an automatic ban or permanent account removal.

- Record both balances around one controlled kill and confirm the configured gain and caps.
- Restart normally, check the balances again and test that an immediate repeated victim does not provide another qualifying transfer.
Limits and compatibility
- Only credited player kills transfer hearts; ordinary environmental deaths and self-kills do not.
- This release manages hearts and optional Spectator elimination, not custom heart items, a ban network or arbitrary combat classes.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own Lifesteal plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
