Add a small crafting rule and apply it on restart
A custom recipe is easiest to verify when the ingredients and result are unmistakable. Start with one small crafting rule, test it by hand and compare the economy value of its inputs and outputs before allowing it on a public world.
Add Custom Recipes to your world
- Open the plugin page and choose an existing world you own, or create a new world with the plugin selected.
- Check the included requirements. Each world supports up to eight plugins, including dependencies.
- Start a sleeping world, or use the dashboard restart option for a running world. Adding, removing and updating plugins takes effect when the world restarts; coordinate with anyone playing.
Save a clear shaped or shapeless example
Operators can save shapeless ingredients as a comma-separated list, repeating an item when several are required. A shaped pattern separates rows with slashes and uses a dot for an empty cell. These are custom balance choices: the examples turn two cobblestone into four gravel, or four stone into four mossy bricks.
/recipes add gravel_path gravel 4 cobblestone,cobblestone
/recipes shaped mossy_bricks mossy_stone_bricks 4 AA/AA A=stoneValidate before restarting
List the saved definitions and run operator validation. Saving is not the same as registering into the running crafting system: additions, edits and removals apply after the world restarts. Give players notice before restarting, then check that the expected definition remains in the saved list.
/recipes list
/recipes validateCraft manually and remove experiments cleanly
After restart, use the manual crafting grid with exactly the configured ingredients and arrangement. Compare the result count and consumed inputs. If the recipe was only an experiment, remove it and restart again; otherwise the old running recipe remains active until that restart boundary. Review Shop resale prices before creating an easy profit loop.
/recipes remove gravel_path
/recipes listCheck the result
- Test both a correct ingredient layout and a deliberately wrong one after restart.
- After removing a recipe and restarting again, verify that the former custom result can no longer be crafted from that rule.
Limits and compatibility
- Cooking recipes, per-recipe permissions and a visual recipe editor are not included.
- Java manual-grid crafting is verified. Bedrock custom recipe-book listing is unsupported, and stock Bedrock manual custom-crafting QA remains pending.
These instructions are for JetRift’s own Custom Recipes plugin. JetRift does not install arbitrary Paper, Spigot, Forge or Fabric extensions. Commands use player names from your world; replace example names before running them. Operators can use the dashboard Console without the leading slash.
