Free Minecraft server hosting, and what free actually means
JetRift hosts Minecraft Java Edition servers free. You get three worlds, a hundred hours of server time a month across them, and an address like yourworld.play.jetrift.com that does not change. There is no card, no advertising and no queue to wait in. Worlds sleep when nobody is playing, and sleeping time does not count against your hours. It runs Minecraft 26.2.
What you get
- Three worlds on one account
- A hundred hours of server time a month, shared across them
- A permanent address, not an IP and port that changes
- Whitelist by username, so only people you name can join
- Three saves per world, and a new one every time a world stops
- Survival, Creative, Hardcore, Lifesteal, Skyblock and OneBlock
What the catch is
Every free host has one, so here is ours plainly. A hundred hours a month is roughly three hours every evening. If you run a world continuously it will last about four days, which is why worlds sleep when empty rather than running for nobody.
Worlds are Java Edition only, on Minecraft 26.2 or newer. You cannot upload a world you already have. And the machine your world runs on is shared infrastructure, so this is built for a group of friends rather than a public server with a hundred players.
What we do not do
No advertising, anywhere. No queue you sit in before your own server starts. No third-party trackers. We do not sell anything about you, and there is nothing on the site reporting your activity to anybody else.
There is no paid tier yet either, so nothing here is a trial that expires into a bill.
How sleeping works, and why it matters
Ten minutes after the last person leaves, the world saves and the machine it was running on goes away. Those hours are not counted, which is the difference between a hundred hours of playing and a hundred hours of a server sitting idle.
When somebody connects again it starts back up, which takes about a minute. The page shows what it is doing and roughly how long is left, measured from how long your world has actually taken before.

Start a worldCommon questions
Is it actually free, or free for a trial period?
Actually free. No card is collected, so nothing can start charging you. If that ever changes you will get plenty of notice and you will have to choose to continue.
How many players can be on at once?
Up to ten. It is sized for a group of friends rather than a public server.
What happens when I run out of hours?
The world stops starting until your hours reset at the beginning of the next calendar month. Your world and its saves stay exactly where they are.
Does it support mods or plugins?
The game modes are built on plugins we wrote and maintain. Uploading your own plugin jar is not available, because a plugin runs as code on the machine and we are not willing to take that risk with other people’s worlds yet.
Can I get my world out if I stop using it?
Yes. Every world has a Backups page, and a backup is a standard world archive you can download and run anywhere.
