How to make a Minecraft Bingo server

A Minecraft Bingo server gives everybody the same card of items and a race to collect a line of them first. On JetRift you make one by choosing Bingo, naming it, and sending your friends the address. It takes about ninety seconds, with no downloads, no port forwarding and no monthly fee. It runs Minecraft 26.2 on Java Edition.

What Minecraft Bingo actually is

Everybody gets the same square of twenty-five items and the same world. First to a full row, column or diagonal wins. Play for a blackout instead and you are collecting all twenty-five, which turns a twenty minute game into an evening.

It does not matter how an item arrives. Mined, crafted, smelted, fished, traded or handed over by a friend all count, because the server looks at what you are carrying rather than watching for a particular way of getting it.

Starting a round

Create a Bingo world and send your friends the address.
Run /bingo start, or press Start a new round on the panel.
Check your card any time with /bingo card. Found squares are ticked off.
Watch the standings with /bingo status, or on the panel as they change.

What is on the card

Cards are drawn from a pool of items that can all be got in ordinary survival without needing a specific biome to spawn nearby. That keeps a round a race rather than a lottery about world generation.

Every card is generated from a seed, so a round can be described and played again exactly. Starting a new round draws a fresh one.

What it costs

Nothing while JetRift is in early access. No credit card, three worlds per account, and a hundred hours a month across all of them. The world sleeps when nobody is on it and wakes up when somebody joins.

Common questions

Do we all get the same card?

Yes. Everybody plays the same twenty-five squares in the same world, which is what makes it a race rather than separate games happening side by side.

Does it matter how I get an item?

No. The server checks what you are carrying, so crafting, smelting, trading, fishing or being handed something all count the same.

How long does a round take?

A line is usually twenty to forty minutes. A blackout, where you collect all twenty-five squares, is an evening.

Can I make the card bigger?

Yes. Card size can be set between three and seven from the panel. A seven by seven card needs forty-nine items, so the pool has to be big enough to fill it.
